Lynx: A New Way to Build Apps ๐Ÿ’ฏ

A few days ago, ByteDance launched Lynx, a new open-source tool that helps developers build apps for mobile and web using the same code. Many people see it as a competitor to React Native! Lynx is designed to make apps fast and smooth, even for big platforms like TikTok.

๐Ÿš€ Why Use Lynx?

๐Ÿ’ซ Write Once, Use Anywhere: Create native Android, iOS, and Web apps with one codebase.

๐ŸŒ Built for Web Developers: If you know CSS and React, you can start using Lynx easily. It follows web development technologies.

โšก High Performance: Lynx loads apps quickly and smooths the UI with its multi-threaded engine.

React Native Framework for Enterprise! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Recently, Callstack introduced a new React Native framework specifically built for enterprise-level applications.Designed to address the unique challenges faced by large organizations, this framework helps optimize build times, increase build reusability, and improve scalability.

Key Features: ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿš€ Faster Builds โ€“ Build React Native apps in seconds, not hours! Reuses builds to speed up development.

๐Ÿ  Self-Hosting โ€“ No need for third-party cloud services; host on your infrastructure.

๐Ÿ”„ Easy Migration โ€“ Upgrade from the Community CLI or an existing native app in just a few minutes.

๐Ÿ”Œ Modular System โ€“ Include the platforms and plugins you support and connect them with your current tools.

Why Itโ€™s Perfect for Enterprises: ๐Ÿ”ฅ

โœ… Faster build times โ€“ No more waiting 30-60 minutes for builds. โœ… No external cloud approval needed โ€“ Works with your existing infrastructure.

โœ… Simplifies scaling โ€“ Easily integrates into large codebases without disrupting workflows.

Radon IDE V1.4 published ๐Ÿš€

Last week, Krzysztof Magiera and his team from Software Mansion released Radon IDE V1.4, packed with tools to streamline debugging and performance tuning for React Native apps. Hereโ€™s whatโ€™s new in V1.4:

  1. React Query, Now Built-In
  2. Render Visualization with React Scan
  3. JS Sampling Profiler (Hermes + RN 0.75+)

React Query, Now Built-In

If your app uses React Query, the tool will be automatically listed under the Dev Tools menu. No extra configuration is needed! It uses React Queryโ€™s official dev tools UI, so you can inspect active queries, mutate data stores, and debug caching behavior directly within the IDE.

Render Visualization with React Scan

This update introduces the first version of react-scan integration. When you enable the "Outline Renders" option, youโ€™ll see markers that show where React components render. This makes it simple to understand when and where your app updates.

JS Sampling Profiler (Hermes + RN 0.75+)

Finally, you can now start a CPU Sampling Profiler session from the Dev Tools menu. This feature works with Hermeson RN 0.75+ and helps you analyze performance. After a profiling session finishes, Radon IDE shows links to your code so you can easily switch between the profile view and your code.

Pro Tip: Radon IDE is an extension for VSCode and Cursor that supercharges your editor into a full React Native/Expo IDE. Explore all the features in the official docs or dive deeper on notjust.dev/blog.
